College Outing Club Shifts Mission Under Republican Leadership...

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY—The Skidmore College Outing Club is heading in a bold new direction with the election of its first Republican president in the club’s twenty-eight-year history. On Friday, it was announced that Tucker Casey ‘10 would take the helm after winning in a landslide.

Traditionally, an informal group that organized light-hearted campus events such as hikes, naked runs, and scavenger hunts, president-elect Casey, 21, seems to be taking the club’s name a bit more literally than his predecessors as evidenced by his campaign of systematically “outing” suspected homosexual students across campus.

“Now more than ever, we need to reassert American values back into our college campuses.” Casey said in an interview outside the Saisselin Arts Building where he and other OC members were holding a rally Friday afternoon.

“This campus is a hotbed of degenerate behavior and moral laxity, and nobody’s doing anything about it,” Casey explained, pausing abruptly to call a male theater student passing by on his way to class a “fag.”

While the Outing Club’s new focus has seen a boost in membership from the campus’ often-marginalized Republican community, the club’s old guard is noticeably less enthusiastic. “They basically high jacked our club,” lamented former-president Alexis Voutas ’10, who lost her reelection bid to Casey in what she noted was the most competitive and mean-spirited presidential campaign the Outing Club had ever seen.

“I didn’t stand a chance,” said Voutas who credited Casey’s victory to an aggressive strategy of robo-calling, push-polling, and voter intimidation. Particularly hurtful to Voutas was the barrage of vicious personal attacks on her via Facebook, Twitter, and on the campus radio station.

Mindful of not becoming a single-issue organization, Casey asserted that the OC was not just about "outing homos,” promising that the group has “some other great activities planned, too.” Currently in the works are plans to throw a tea party, hold campus-wide war games, and take a trip to visit Ground Zero in Manhattan “so these fuckers won’t forget what we’re fighting for.”

Voutas, however bruised, remains undeterred. While she chose to not contest the election results, she still has an ace up her sleeve. “I found this in my email yesterday,” she said revealing a photograph that clearly shows Casey engaged in a passionate kiss with an unnamed member of the Skidmore Young Republicans Association at an off-campus party last semester.

Voutas said she planned on posting the photo to her wall on Facebook, and “tagging the shit out of it.” When asked if she thought resorting to Casey’s smear tactics was hypocritical, she disagreed stating, “As an Outing Club member, I feel it’s my duty.”

Isn't yelling "faggot" at someone considered hate speech, and not protected under Freedom of Speech? Sounds like someone needs to intervene here before this thing gains traction.
